White/Purple Walking Iris Apostle Plant (Neomarica gracilis)- 2 Gallon Size!

You are purchasing one large clump of Walking Iris, Apostle Plant (Neomarica gracilis)  Blooming size plants.  There are several fans in each clump.

The flowers on these plants have lovely white outter petals with recurved inner petals of purple.

This is a large clump of these plants - from 4-6 plants in each clump - growing in a 2 gallon container. They are large plants, not babies. I suggest planting as they are, in a clump, and then letting them spread as they produce babies - but, with care, the plants could be separated and planted independantly. These lovely plants, with delicate white and purple iris blooms and tall leaves that grow in a fan shape, are SO EASY TO GROW it will amaze you! In tropical areas, these shade-loving plants make great substitutes for iris. The walking iris blooms from spring to late autumn, even into winter in very mild climates! The inflorescence arises from the base. When each inflorescence is finished flowering, it produces plantlets and arches toward the ground (walking) where they will take root and start a new plant.

Cold hardy to USDA Zone 8a: to 10° F, these can be grown in containers in colder climates and brought in during the winter. If growing in a pot, you can clip the plantlets when they have air roots and place in their own pot for sharing or for even more blooms in coming years. Plantlets take 1 - 2 years to bloom, depending on climate and care. Planting instructions will be included.
