(AKA: Variegated Upright Elephant Ear, Giant Taro, Wild Taro, Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Variegata', Alocasia macrorrhiza)

These are one of the most beautiful Elephant Ear plants you will ever find!  You'll await the emergence of each new leaf with excitement because, just like snowflakes in December, each leaf is special, with it's own unique pattern and style.  Ranging from all green to nearly all white to marbled patterns of emerald green with splashes of white, gray-green and light green; each leaf is a work of art! The leaves are heavily veined with lovely ruffled edges, which just adds to the beauty!

These plants can reach 4' - 5' tall with leaves reaching 2' long when mature.  I find they grow best with regular watering (don't allow them to dry out) and in bright shade.

Hardy to zone 9, these plants can also be cultivated indoors, in a bright spot in your home. In warm months you can place it outdoors in your garden or in large pot on your deck, patio, lanai or poolside in full or partial shade. They will need to be protected from freezing during the winter. Of course, in warm, tropical areas, these make great landscape plants.
