24+ Twining Snapdragon, Snapdragon Vine, Roving Sailor Seeds (Maurandella / Asarina Antirrhiniflora) PLUS planting instructions.
These are annuals, but will self-sow for even more vines the following year!
This is a vine whose fragile beauty needs to be seen close-up. Plant near a walkway, garden bench or an entryway. Let it climb up a small trellis or dangle from a hanging basket. Don’t be surprised if the common buckeye (Junonia coenia) butterfly shows up because this plant is one of it's larval (host) foods. Vines bloom all summer with small, snap-dragon shaped, purple blooms set against a backdrop of ivy shaped leaves.
These are a little hard to get started due to their fragile nature, but are well worth the little extra effort and will re-seed themselves for you for next year if grown in the garden/landscape.
They grow best in sandy, well draining, average soil and in full sun (in northern zones) or bright/partial shade (in southern zones).
