100+  Lily of the Nile / African Lily seeds (Agapanthus africanus) plus germination instructions. I have tested these seeds for germination with positive results.

These tough plants put on a show that are hard to resist!

Lily of the Nile is treasured both for its bold, wide, dark green leaves (that make great ground cover!) and its fantastic bell shaped flowers that bloom in clusters in the spring and summer. These seeds are mixed and include seeds from BOTH VIOLET-BLUE AND PURE WHITE (Bressingham White) plants. Each flower cluster is held on a tall, strong stalk that stands about 2 feet tall, well above the foliage. Cold hardy to USDA Zone 8a (to 10° F), but can really take the heat, too! Used often in parking lot/highway plantings in full Florida sun; it doesn't get much hotter than that! Makes a wonderful container plant and can be wintered indoors in colder zones.

I have read that these plants can take 3-5 years to bloom, however the ones I've grown from seed took only 18 months. Of course, this time depends on conditions and care. In any case, the bold leaves make great ground cover while you’re waiting, though and the lovely blooms are well worth the wait!
