This is a spectacular elephant ear! Perfect to bring a feel of the tropics to your home, garden or patio! It's perfect in pots or in a partly shaded spot in your garden. Elephant ears LOVE WATER - use them around your Koi pond to really add drama or plant them with white Impatiens for a formal look!

The leaves on these start out green with deep purple/black veins. In the sun, this turns to a deep purple/black over the entire leaf; in deep shade, it will stay more green with black veins and black stems - it needs some sun to really bring out its full potential.

These plants are hardy in zones 8 and warmer; bulbs may be lifted in the winter in colder zones and stored. Of course, they make wonderful container plants in any zone! The larger the container and more moisture they receive will determine their size - up to 5' high with 2' leaves.

The plant you are purchasing is growing in a one gallon pot and is from 8" - 12" high. They are WELL ROOTED! They will be shipped bare root with damp newspaper on the roots for moisture during shipping.  Plants will wilt during shipping, but will recover by following the planting directions included with your plant.

I ship plants via Priority Mail on Monday's and Tuesday's only to avoid them sitting in a warehouse or truck over a weekend. Payment must be received by 5pm on Monday in order for plants to go out that week; otherwise, they will be held and shipped the following Tuesday.  If temperatures are too cold in your area for shipping these tropical plants, I will email you about scheduling a later shipping date.
