You are buying 1 Hardy, New Guinea Sheild Elephant Ear Plant (Taro, Alocasia wentii).
These are lovely plants that look almost like they're fake with glossy bronze-green leaves that are a deep metalic-purple on the undersides. So called 'hardy' elephant ear because they are reported to be cold hardy from zones 7b and warmer.
A relatively small growing (up to about 3 feet tall when container grown) exotic looking elephant ear. These plants can be cultivated indoors, in a bright spot in your home out of direct sun. In warm months you can place it outdoors in your garden or in large pot on your deck, patio or lanai in full shade.
These like plenty of water making them perfect around a pond or in a bog area. I have not grown them submerged, so I don't know how they would do in that situation, but they do great on the edge of a pond.
The picture is of the mother plant which is about 5 years old.
