Hello, I'm Onalee and I
thought some of you may want to know a little about me . . . .
I'm a true native Floridian, as was my mother - my dad came to Florida on
vacation from Missouri in the late 50's and decided to stay - he'd had enough of
the cold! My mother died in childbirth and I was raised by my very hard
working and loving Dad. Here we are in 1966:
My Dad never went on another vacation, but thanks to wonderful family
friends (thanks Brenda and Doug!), I got to go on numerous camping trips across the country as a child and
developed a real love of nature.
Not too long ago, my husband and I got the opportunity to travel
to Alaska - WOW! If you've never been, I highly recommend putting that on your
'to see' list!
So, how did I start selling seeds and plants? Well, I
think it all comes back to my love of nature and my Dad's work ethic - he taught
me to never waste anything (he was the ORIGINAL king of recycling, trust me!),
so when the plants that I loved started producing seeds, I just couldn't let
them fall on the ground, I knew there had to be something I could do with them
so they wouldn't be wasted.
Then I discovered Ebay and selling on the internet, that was in
2002. I started with a few seeds from the plants in my yard and as I added more
plants, I added more seeds. I'm not a 'professional' gardener or even a
master gardener, I'm just a regular gardener and plant lover sharing the flowers
and plants that I love and that I find easy to grow (because I don't have time
to dote on plants!) with other plant lovers like you!
I still live in central Florida with my husband, my Australian
Shepherd, "Bob", (meet
Bob), my Blue and Gold Macaw ("Parakeen"), our small herd of Katahdin/Dorper
hair sheep - and, of course, all my plants!
